BioShock PC demo due tomorrow

PC News | Today is now officially the Longest Day Ever.
According to The Cult of Rapture, 2K Games' official BioShock site, the PC demo will be released at 7.00pm (EST) on Monday. For Australian readers, if our time zone conversion skills are functioning properly, this converts to 9.00am on Tuesday 21st of August.

This leaves plenty of time to get the washing up done and start looking a little bit pale and sickly at work today. Honestly, you don't look well. Probably (cough) best to stay home (sniff) tomorrow, yes?

if you're a member of fileplanet (or the IGN network in general) you can pre-load the demo, as stupid as that sounds.

it's 1.84GB.

Darn, that will take me like 10 hours Im going to need to find somewere that supports resumable downloads because I know I will get cut of at least once in that time period.

I have what i consider to be a relatively basic pc. What is the easiest way to determine whether my computer has the appropriate specs to be able to handle this game?

sweet, wonder if Bigpond will be hosting it tomorrow though @ that time, already using 80% of my monthly downloads icon_sad.gif.

Mimimum specs are P4 2.4 GHZ 1GB Ram and a 6600/X1300 or better. I doubt mimum specs would lead to an enjoyable experience.

Preloading isnt a bad thing. Im downloading it now and this way Ill be able to play it first thing tomorrow instead of waiting 11 hours while it downloads.

Fileplanet is a bitch, but if you wait in a que you can still download it without being a subscriber.

Should have also noted that both ATI and NVIDIA have patches planned for then as well which improve Bioshock performance.

Reckon it will be on steam? The full version is anyway, so im hoping the demo will be too.

1.84 GB ftl. I may download though, just so I can have a game that actually PUSHES my system a bit icon_razz.gif

If Bioshock doesn't work, I shall promptly hit my computer really hard with a sledge hammer. Many times.

The crashing makes no sense! icon_sad.gif

Depending on your ISP, you should be able to pick it up quota free. Telstra will mirror it on GameArena, Internode will mirror it on Internode Games, iiNet will mirror it on GamersHell etc etc.. so the size shouldn't be a problem as a PC demo, unlike 360 demos icon_smile.gif

I too it seems like everyone else will decide what system to buy it on purely depending on how it runs on my system. If I can't max out the settings then I'll just get it for 360 personally, I don't want anything to detract from the experience..

Developers said the 360 version is the equivilent of the PC version maxed in DX9. PC in DX 10 will obviusly look better.
