Enemy Territory is set within the Quake Universe in the year 2065. Gamers assume the role of a human or alien Strogg in one of five character classes. The game features a wide range of weapons, vehicles and combat objectives. Players will be able to grow their characters and receive achievements for teamwork.

I hate the concept of levelling your character online for something as rudimentary as an fps.

Made battlefield to much of a chore and deters casual gamers because they feel out classed by the uber players with no lives that have heavily upgraded weapons/armour etc etc. They're already skilled enough due to their extensive play time, why make them even better with upgraded stats?

They should just give rtcw a spit polish and re-release it.No et, that sucked, but rtcw was where the arcadey fps team fun was at.

I like the idea. It rewards players for putting in the effort.

Just wondering why this was in the PSP news section since it clearly deserves to be in the PC gaming section icon_confused.gif

Wrong system selected, that's all.

I agree with slapshakle, it certainly rewards constant playtime and gives you fun little incentives to increase your skill. As far as the unlocked weapons being superior, this is not always the case. Im speaking from my experiences in Battlefield 2 (a love-hate relationship to be sure), and the base weapons are just as lethal as unlocks if not more so.

You have a valid argument regarding keeping the playing field level though. Its all up to personal preference I guess. Personally, I tend to dislike the whole 'temporary stats boost' that lasts only for the duration of the round. I'd prefer a game to have persistent stats or nothing at all.

After being starved of an excellent FPS i can enjoy competitively online (hence, my sticking to BF 2), I hailed QW: ET as the next FPS messiah. After trying the Beta, the gameplay didnt win me over at all. It has the pace of a fast fragger like QIII: Arena and UT, yet tries to weigh you down with tactics such as deploying cannons etc on the battlefield when the gameplay simply moves too quick for them to be of any advantage.

Disappointing, but roll on Crysis and UT 3!
