New S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles coming

PC News | They've certainly had plenty of time to work on them.

GSC Game World has decided to put a four year delay in the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl behind them, planning what it describe as "several subsequent new products" set in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe.

"We are very happy of the players' positive reaction to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. all over the world. This fills us with confidence the team is on the right track and adds us strength to go for next exciting accomplishments. It will be very soon that we present our new interesting ideas and solutions", said GSC Game World's CEO Sergiy Grygorovych in slightly broken English.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. takes place in an alternate universe where mutants roam free and scavengers hunt through what is left behind after a second nuclear blast at the site of 1986's Chernobyl disaster.

The announcement made on the Ukrainian development team's website does not describe the exact detail of the new products, but we're assuming they're more than just S.T.A.L.K.E.R. branded Geiger counters. GSC plan to release more information at the E3 Media and Business Summit in July.

If they can iron out the chinks of the original and do a console release that'd be cool. I don't have a high performance pc but the premise of the original STALKER interested me.

It interested me too.. what a disappointment it was though

(my opinion anyway, not nearly as immersing and complete as I thought it would be).

Anyway, I'm guessing we'll see these titles in, what, six years or so?

sounds good, they should already have the game engine and they can just fix the bugs and they have a great thing on their hands

Sweet, I can't wait until 2015 when the next installment will be released (going on past experiences).

I'm not adverse to the idea of more STALKER games, and I don't want to sound like a dick, but I really think they should focus on fixing up the problems in the first game before moving on. Once STALKER has had a few updates, then shift your attention to the next projects.
