Lost Planet coming to PC

PC News | The freeze is spreading.
From Japan's Famitsu and across the stormy seas that are Internet translation tools comes the news that the Xbox 360's Lost Planet is officially making its way to PCs later this year.

The magazine's report details a partnership between the graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA and Capcom to translate the game from Xbox 360 to PC. With DirectX 10 support, this version of Lost Planet will be capable of running at resolutions of 2560x1600, so prepare your dual 8800s for some sweet pixel-pumping action.

June of this year will see the release of the game in both Europe and the Americas. There is currently no report of an Australian release date, however.

The DX10 support won't be very extensive, me thinks.

Capcom have shown with 3 titles thus far that they do pretty bad PC ports and this is a 3rd person shooter, but I'm still excited due to Nvidia involvement. icon_smile.gif

Seeing what happened with DMC3, RE4 and Ominusha, this game has probably been released in Australia already (read: they never give any notice).

^ Yeah, i think the PS3 is really missing out on the Dead Rising title. No biggie with lost planet through. I played this game and didn't really buy into the story at all.

I'll look it up now.

EDIT: Nope, I was wrong.

Actually, were any of those done in house by Capcom or outsourced? I'm pretty sure that RE4 was outsourced, and the other games had a few limitations, including the graphics resolutions up to 2560x1600.

Seems interesting though that is being ported, but with the similarities between the 360 and PC they'd be losing a large market if they didn't port their games.

^Actually, it may of been Ubisoft's fault.

Saw some footage of this game running. Looks really good. The only question remains, mouse or control pad??

I don't see the point in this. I can't imagined that DMC3 special edition and MGS2 substance on the PC enjoyed great sales, why bother putting this on it. They could be better spending their time by making new maps and SP chapters.

This will be released as a full price PC game, with minimal effort in porting it from the 360 to the PC. If it's done right and actually plays to the strengths of the PC, instead of being an outsourced port it could do well.

crestfallen: I would probably try both then see which is the preferred method personally, but at this moment I would be leaning to keyboard/mouse controls.

Dude this is one of the greatest multiplayer games on 360, I think it would be great if it goes to PC. I give it 9/10. It's like playing in a movie when you play single player too.
