Half-Life 2 gets cheaper

PC News | And the Source Engine's getting an update too.
Valve has a temporary price reduction of 25% on Half-Life 2 via Steam. You have until March 12th to get your sticky paws on it for AUS$28 (£11), before it reverts to the usual price of AUS$38 (£15). Not a bad offer, and an ideal way to set yourself up for the release of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 - whenever that may be.

There's also this interesting little snippet from Valve regarding the Source Engine: "We'll be releasing an update soon to both text chat and voice communication in the Source Engine that will improve communication for people in multiplayer games. We've completely rebuilt the text chat system, adding the ability to browse your chat history right in the chat window and a filter to remove messages that clutter your game screen. Voice communication will be getting a huge boost in quality, so if you have a microphone sitting on the corner of your desk collecting dust, now would be a good time to plug it back in."

So there you go.

If you don't own the game, you fail at life.

^ ahaha. Yes, aint that the truth.

Great deal though, I kinda wish I hadn't forked out for the big black box version when it was released. AH well.

The big black box version isn't so bad now. You can actually play the game without putting the DVD in the drive these days. I must have got the dodgy box though, the logo on my shirt has faded out to nothing.

I'd be all over this a year ago. Y'know, when I had disposable money. Y'know, before becoming completely BROKE. Still, it's good to see the price fairly cheap new. Maybe the game will gain some new fans.

I borrowed the game off a friend last week, installed it. Cursed for half an hour trying to work out how to navigate Steam. Entered the Product Key. Oh god I forgot I had to pay!

Might just pick this game up. Thanks Neil.
