Empire Earth III announced

PC News | The whole world in your hand - without the aid of a MasterCard.
Sierra Entertainment announced today that it will once again team up with Mad Doc Software for the release of Empire Earth III. The third game in the popular real time strategy series promises to take warfare to the next level by allowing players full access to the globe at all times. Combine this with a freeform approach to the genre, with continuous battles from ancient times through to the distant future - you'll get to keep your units from one battle to the next.

β€œThe Empire Earth series has been the recipient of much deserved praise from the media and fans alike, making it a multi-million unit selling franchise for Sierra Entertainment,” said Cindy Cook, chief strategy and marketing officer for Vivendi Games. β€œEmpire Earth III will take the series to the next level with its ability to capture the entire scope of the globe and give it to the hands of the player.”

While Mad Doc still has a lot more of Empire Earth III's features to reveal, the game sounds like it may well give the series a push towards greatness. Expect to see Empire Earth III on shelves in the second quarter of 2007.

This is good news (hopefully) but I'd rather Age of Empires 4 or better still an Age of Mythology 2.
