Burning Crusade now available via download

PC News | You don’t even need to leave your house!
If venturing outside of your house is too much of a hassle, then rejoice as Blizzard is now making the hugely popular World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade available for download from their website for US$39.99 (roughly AU$51 or £20).

To take advantage of Blizzard’s digital distribution service all you’ll have to do is:

1. Login to Account Management
2. Click the Burning Crusade "Download Now" button
3. Enter your credit card information
4. Follow the link to download the Burning Crusade game client

It’s that simple. The release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade has already sparked the interest of well over 2.4 million people, and is a particular favourite of ours here at PALGN.

Cool how much does it cost in AUD using download?

Sorry, probably should've been a good idea to have included that originally. It is US$39.99, which coverts to roughly AU$51 - not too bad especially most stores are selling the game for about $55 at the moment.

Ohh ok if I decide to get it id probably rather pay $4 extra and get it on disc in a case..I think maybe its $39 still at Big W?

Does it use that horrid blizzard downlaoder thing, you know, the one that uses some sort of bit torrent technology.

^I hate that its so slow for me using that thing...Sometimes it doesnt even get the patch at all..

Theoretically this is an amazing idea, but perhaps it brings Blizzard in line with big tobacco? Joking (of course). You need never leave your house now for a medieval alternate reality.

i think it's funny that people were calling for direct download for the xpac since before it was announced, and Blizz effectively ignored them the whole time... suddenly, here it is.

call me a cynic, but it seems to me that they got the chart position first, then sell it onto others.

Re: Blizzard Downloader. yeah, it's shocking. but if you look in one of the subfolders (Cache iirc - with no patch to DL, i can't check) there's a .torrent file, which is openable with your favourite bit-torrent program, which therefore bypasses the speed restriction imposed on the Blizz downloader so it doesn't interfere with your precious gaming time.

then just copy the files to the "Patch" folder when complete and run the downloader to install.
