Psychonauts now available on Steam

PC News | Tim Schafer's game gets all Steamy.

You may not be able to play Psychonauts on your Xbox 360 but, as of today, you can get it any time you want on PC, if you have access to the Steam network. The game has been released on Valve’s ever expanding distribution service, and can now be downloaded for US$19.95. This release is another indicator that Steam has grown into a service that not only delivers Valve’s own set of well produced titles, but also has a growing library of some of the more original games available.

With a BAFTA for best screenplay under its belt, Psychonauts has received praise from many a critic, and also gamers in general, for its innovative and enjoyable take on the platforming genre. Originally released in 2005 on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 2, the game centres around a young circus performer’s quest to save a summer camp for psychics from a mysterious, brain-stealing lunatic. Entering the brains of fellow campers Tim Schafer's game, takes you on a wild/psychedelic ride involving gameplay that ranges from traditional platforming fun, to playing a ‘Risk-esque’ board game against Napoleon.

It's good to see steam supporting more games. Also I haven't played Psychonaughts before so I might have to buy this.

wow, didn't expect this.

i've got Psychonauts on PS2 though, so it's kinda redundant.

i'd like to know how it handles on PC, i'd probably play it more on PC than PS2 if i had the choice. is there a demo?
