New Sam & Max game dated

PC News | Sleuthing duo to make October comeback.
CVG brings news that the new Sam & Max game - full title Sam & Max Episode 1: Culture Shock - is to be made available from October 17. Developed by Telltale Games, the title marks the return of what is surely the greatest dog and rabbit detective combo in gaming. The comeback of the popular adventure game duo has taken some time, mind - it's been thirteen years since the only other Sam & Max game, Sam & Max Hit the Road, first appeared.

However, whilst the latest entry in the Sam & Max franchise will be downloadable for subscribers to broadband gaming network and digital distribution service GameTap from the aforementioned October 17, the rest of us will have to wait another 15 days, when the title will appear on Telltale Games' own website. Over the next six months through to April 2007, another five episodes are set to appear on a monthly basis.

No prices have been revealed just yet, but we're told more details are set to emerge in the coming weeks.

Yeah. But this is good news, can only hope that it is a reasonable comeback...

Well, Steve Purcell is behind all the story and dialog in the game isn't he? So it has that going for it.

Although whoever is doing Max's voice doesn't hold a candle to whomever voiced him in the Lucasarts game...

Eh, I don't mind the new voice to be honest.

Now, what is the likelihood that each series is released ala DVD boxed set in stores much later on down the track?
Now THAT would be awesome...
