Half Life 2: Episode 2 in the works

PC News | So says a Valve designer.
Half Life 2: Episode 1, formerly known as Aftermath, isn't available on Steam (Valve's online software distribution system, for those unaware) until the 24th of April, but that hasn't stopped Valve engineer/designer Robin Walker from confirming that Episode 2 is already in the pipeline.

Walker claimed in a recent issue of CVG that Episode 2 "has been in development for some time" - but, of course, refused to comment any further.

Episode 1 will, as mentioned, arrive on the 24th of April, and be available for a reasonable $19.99 from Steam, with a retail boxed version following shortly after. Looks like it could be a good year for Half Life fans.

Well it was known that Episode 2 would come out, think of these as "half games" in that they go for about Half the Length of a full game but continue the story, and this is effectively creates Half Life 3 along with engine updates.

$20 US isn't too bad, just over $30 Au so I should definately be getting the Episodic Content.

^ agreed. i think it's a pretty good system in many ways, although ask me again after 12 episodes of some game and i might have something different to say about paying 1/2 of full price for each. icon_wink.gif
