Oblivion specs released

PC News | How does your rig stack up?
If there is one game RPG fans are dying to get their hands on this year, chances are the latest game in the Elder Scrolls series isn't too far away from their thoughts, however the lack of any new info may be a bit much to bear for most. Breaking away from this long running drought of info, Bethseda Softworks have released the official PC specs for the eagerly awaited RPG Oblivion. In addition to recommended and minimum specs, also listed is a full set of supported chipsets from both the ATi and Nvidia.

Recommended:

* 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
* 1 GB System RAM
* ATI X800 series, Nvidia GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card

Minimum System Requirements:

* Windows XP
* 512MB System RAM
* 2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
* 128MB Direct3D compatible video card
* and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver;
* 8x DVD-ROM drive
* 4.6 GB free hard disk space
* DirectX 9.0c (included)
* DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
* Keyboard, Mouse

Supported Video Card Chipsets:

* ATI X1800 series
* ATI X1300 series

* ATI x800 series
* ATI x700 series
* ATI x600 series
* ATI Radeon 9800 series
* ATI Radeon 9700 series
* ATI Radeon 9600 series
* ATI Radeon 9500 series
* ATI Radeon 9000 series
* NVIDIA Geforce 7800 series
* NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series
* NVIDIA GeForce FX series

So it seems like their just might be hope for those of us out their without the biggest and best PC rigs out there. Sure, the game will look better with the more expensive hardware, but at least we now know it'll run on a more modest setup and isn't that the most important thing? The head says yes, the heart says... I'd rather not say.

Oblivion is scheduled for release on both the PC and Xbox 360. No official word on a release date yet, but recent revelations could narrow the window down a bit.

All above the recommanded spec.
Might get it, might not. Don't really have the time to play a long game.

Is there any reason the ATi Raedon X300 is left out?

In theory it's better than the 9000 series, but isn't on the list...

RAM is the only other place I'm worried about (512Mb = minimum)
