New Guild Wars chapter announced

PC News | And you can try it for free.
Guild Wars is an immensely popular MMORPG not only because it offers up a wealth of content and customization options but also because unlike it's other MMO brethren, you did not have to pay a cent extra to play the game after the initial purchase. This not only made it a worthwhile purchase but also a hugely rewarding one that could keep you entertained for months on end. Now Guild War fans will have plenty more questing to look forwards to thanks to the recent announcement of Guild Wars: Factions, the next official 'chapter' to the Guild Wars universe.

Factions offers up a brand new campaign set in the Oriental inspired continent of Cantha, a land that will have a very different look and feel to the Tyria of Ascalon in the original Guild Wars. The expansion will give gamers the opportunity to play as two brand new professions, the silent but deadly Assassin and the spirt controlling Ritualist. Also added in the expansion will be 25 additional skills for the already exsisting core professions, not to mention half a dozen new sets of armour. Rounding out the additions will be a PvP exclusive island aptly named the Battle Isles, which esentially centralizes all PvP arenas from Guild Wars into one spot that is accesible from the port cities of either continent.

If all this extra content has tempted you beyond reason, you might be interested to know that NCsoft and developer ArenaNet are offering all gamers a chance to preview it during the Guild Wars: Factions Global Free-for-All PvP Weekend. For more information on how to enter, check out the Guild Wars website to see if you can get your hands on an access key that will allow you to sample the new professions as well as take those new skills for a test drive at The Battle Isle. Or you could simply pick up some pointers while you sit back and watch the action unfold. Either way, this is not an opportunity Guild Wars fans will want to miss.

Guild Wars: Factions is currently set for a second quarter release. We'll keep you up to date with more info as it breaks. That's why you love us.

Sounds good. Unfortunately I've been subverted to WoW of late.
