New Counter-Strike: Global Offensive modes revealed

PC News | You know you're all that when you're bringing a knife to a gun fight.
Shooter fans that love a dose of Gun Game shenanigans will be pleased to noted that Valve have revealed that its online shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will sport its own iteration of the mod with the recently announced 'Arsenal Mode' of gameplay.

Based on the popular Counter-Strike: Source mod Gun Game, Valve have confirmed that it is working with the team behind the original mod to bring Arsenal Mode to life. This game mode will come stacked with eight new maps designed specifically for this game type and the two game modes - Arsenal: Arms Race and Arsenal: Demolition. Valve is yet to explain the finer details of Arsenal's gameplay, but we can assume that at least one of the modes will be a Gun Game variant of the standard CS demolition gameplay.

"We are excited that Valve reached out and is working with us to ensure Arsenal Mode is the best version of Gun Game," stated the mod's project lead Michael Barr.

If that's not enough for all of you CS fans out there, there are nine new screenshots of the title in action in our media panel to whet your appetite.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is slated to deploy in early 2012 on Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Played around 120 hours in Counter Strike: Source and I'd have to say at least half would be Gun Game. So this is great news! Though I still don't know if I'll actually buy this or not.
