The Weekend Steam - 17/9/11

PC News | Classics unaltered by George Lucas.
To coincide with the release of the Star Wars hexology on Blu Ray, this weekend's Steam deal sees the Star Wars Collection reduced by 50%.

The collection includes Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars Starfighter, Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Star Wars: Dark Forces, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Star Wars: Empire at War: Gold Pack. This all comes to the price of US $49.99 / AU $48.26 / GBP £31.66, and is almost worth it solely for Star Wars: Dark Forces.

I heard last time it was on sale that Dark Forces and a few other older titles were riddled with issues. Anyone know if they ever got fixed?

I bought this collection at the weekend. I am running Windows 7/64bit/i5, and six of the games won't run and hang on startup. These are all the Jedi Knight games and Force Unleashed 2, I have tried some of the fixes but end up getting so frustrated.

I thought Steam games were meant to be patched and optimised to run on newer machines. Every other Steam game I have purchased has worked great.

So to answer your question I would say the older games are still riddled with issues.
