Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC inbound

PC News | Controlled leak.
Once again someone, somewhere has flipped the switch too early, announcing something that was obviously planned for reveal at a later date. As you'll be able to tell from our headline, the latest is concerning the recently released Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

The bungle started with the announcement of an upcoming downloadable pack, a surprising confirmation given the game has been out for just shy over a week. Originally, just the official Deus Ex: Human Revolution RSS feed had the press release in full, including the humorous issue date of 'Thursday 8 September'. Thankfully the main website has too been updated with the full scoop.

Titled 'The Missing Link', the DLC takes place during a part of the main game's plot where Adam Jensen drops off the grid for three days. Though the main quest offers reasoning for why, this DLC appears to bridge the game with playable content. Starting with Jensen tortured and having his augmentations disabled, players will be tasked with escaping their captors and rebuilding their abilities, and with no communication to his usual support, Adam will find himself in contact with mysterious new allies.

According to the Eidos Montréal twitter, The Missing Link is targeting a release sometime in October. This gives all of you plenty of time to pick up and play through Human Revolution.

Introducing new allies? I get the feeling this game might get a sequel especially with how well it's been received.

They will have to remake Deus Ex soon. There really isn't that much between this and then. There is probably only room for one game or so.

And honestly, Deus Ex really needs a makeover. If they redid it with this engine it would be awesome.

@ jesuslol

The modding community has virtually remade the game for modern gaming.

Be sure to check out New Vision, which is a high resolution remastering of the levels of Deus Ex that was released just last month after four years in the making. Unfortunately, this does not include in game models, but it is one hell of an improvement on the visuals.

Unfortunately, the mod team in charge of Project HDTP which aims to reskin all model textures to high resolution ones has had no activity for some time now as the last update on any progress whatsoever came two years ago. Off the record, there is word that the modding team working on this have actually completed work on the project and now all that is left to do is compile the code into a usable state. I have high hopes for this one!

Be sure to check out Deus Ex Enhanced, which tackles resolution issues faced by owners of high resolution monitors / panels.

When you think about it, Deus Ex HR has a lot in common with Mass Effect 2...

Oh, and this DLC, bah, whatever. Maybe without augs Adam can perform a take down without needing to have a powernap and a couple bars of chocolate.
