The Book of Unwritten Tales international release plans

PC News | Point and click to see more.
The German-developed point-and-click adventure game The Book of Unwritten Tales is getting an international release, as recently announced by independent developer, KING Art. The game was launched to critical acclaim in Germany, garnering the highest ratings from press and gamers since the glory days of LucasArts.

The Book of Unwritten Tales is a homage to classic adventure games like LucasArts' back catalogue and Simon the Sorcerer, as well as fantasy literature and media such as Lord of the Rings, Discworld and World of Warcraft. Set in a war-torn world, four heroes from the Alliance find themselves drawn into a quest to find a powerful artifact, racing against the Army of Shadows.

Jan Theysen, Creative Director at KING Art says, “We are thrilled to announce the worldwide release of The Book of Unwritten Tales (or BoUT) in Fall 2011. We’ve invested a great amount of time, money and passion into the localization and believe that people all over the world will enjoy the new and improved English version.”

The full game on PC will feature full HD graphics, real-time 3D characters against 2D backgrounds, over 200 puzzles, 60 locations and 20 hours of gameplay. The localisation will also feature English voice acting, naturally.

The release date has been set for 'Fall 2011', which probably translates to Spring 2011 here. If you're a fan of the point-and-click, keep your eyes peeled.
