First Assassin's Creed: Revelations screenshot and details

PC News | All good things come in threes.

We knew it was coming, and now we have the formal reveal. Courtesy of Game Informer Ubisoft has announced Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the third entry in the trilogy-within-a-trilogy referred to as the Ezio focused story arc.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations will focus on the three major characters that currently dominate the Assassin's Creed franchise; Altaïr from Assassin's Creed, Ezio from Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood, and the ever present modern day Desmond. In Revelations, players will swap between all three characters throughout the story, capping off Ezio's story line in the grand city of Constantinople, as well as continuing Desmond's story from the end of Brotherhood.

As expected, Revelations will come with a slew of new features, including weapons and abilities, as well as an expanded version of the popular multiplayer mode established in Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations is slated for a release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in November of this year. The very first screenshot can be seen below, as well as the Game Informer cover art, and we'll no doubt hear more about this title leading up to E3 2011.

I did feel a bit burnt-out on AC after Brotherhood... but bringing all 3 together sounds pretty fuckin awesome.

If this takes place after the first two AC2 games, it should be 50 years after the fall of Constantinople. So I guess it's going to be up to Ezio to rebuild it or something.

Beat me to the joke.

Actually, taking on all the "conspiracies" that the Assassin's Creed games seem to make, it's possible if not probable that the REAL reason Constantinople got renamed Istanbul will become revealed, and They Might Be Giants will have to create a new song about how they were wrong.

But, is anyone else getting the sense that with all of these quick succession reveals 6 months before it's meant to be released makes the game like it's going to be a rushed job?

Renaming the Turkish city in 1930 is probably going to have little to do with Ezio or Desmond. =P

AC:B had something like 400 people working on it if I recall. It was either that or AC2. Its a pretty insane amount, but I do gotta give Ubisoft props for managing a team of that size to create a successful product.

It will be interesting to see how the franchise can hold up without Patrice Desilets though.

This is my biggest worry, esspecialy seeing that the next one is visiting existing characters again it seems like it might just stagnate without him. Wich will suck cause I really fucking want to know the end of Desmonds story.

I heard a few times that a big chunk of Rome was left over from AC II. So it might not have been as big of a rush job as people might think.
Then again, they've mentioned that there's a few Ubisoft studio's working on the game (Montreal, Singapore, Annecy aparently). So the work load is split up there.

I have to say I was really burned out playing as Ezio after Brootherhood; some of the voice acting in brotherhood is pretty cringeworthy by the end!

Would welcome playing again as Altair during the Crusades.
