The Weekend Steam - 26/3/11

With the Grand Prix set to rev up Albert Park this weekend it's quite fitting that the latest Weekend Steam Deal focuses on F1 2010, which can be picked up at 50% its usual price.

To celebrate the arrival of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC, the massively popular shooter has too seen a price reduction of 25%. While Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West caps off its free weekend trial with the opportunity to pick up the game at 75% off.

F1 2010 sure as hell got the collective motors at PALGN running as it provided us with "one of the most challenging, entertaining, infuriating, engaging, frightening and breathtaking racing" experiences available. You can check out our review of the title here.

I'd get the Mega Drive Collection... if it had any of the Sonic games (it doesn't).

Does that make me shallow? Probably. But I'm open to someone teaching me the error of my ways.

The retail disc release of the Mega Drive Classics Collection on pc has them well Sonics 1 - 3 (Sonic 3 is branded as Sonic 3 & Knuckles) as well as Sonic Spinball & Sonic 3D Blast, have not delved into it further enough to see if it is a mis print and whether Sonic & Knuckles is missing or not. Wouldn't surprise me though.

You can buy all 4 volumes seperately, the GOLD edition basically combining all 4 volumes in 1 game box) came out last week and under $50. Compared to paying $29.95 x3 and 1x $19.95 for the volumes individually.

Heh. I remember when those Megadrive games first came to Steam. It was something like $30 for each 10 game pack (It was just the sum of all the single prices). Then they saw sense and made each pack $10. Now you can get all 4 packs of 10 for just $10.

If anyone bought the packs early on I bet they're pretty mad right about now

Even the 5 single games I bought since the initial release have added up to more than all 40 will cost on this special. But at least I don't have any Alex Kidd or Monster Boy games tied to my Steam account
