The Weekend Steam - 23/10/10

PC News | Get out of the batcave and pick up a bargain.
Those gamers that are yet to get their hands on the Dark Knight's adventure at Arkham Asylum no longer have an excuse, with the Steam Weekend Deal setting its spotlight on Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition for this weekend. Bargain savvy gamers will be able to pick up the title at 66% off, giving the game the price of AU $13.83. The GOTY Edition of the title will give gamers a copy of the title, as well as the additional Challenge Maps which were released as separate downloadable content. Those not partial to superhero capers may find something that else that tickles their fancy with sales on a number of indie titles such as DeathSpank and Shank to casual gaming fare such as Air Forte and Big Brain Wolf. For the train simulation fans out there who haven't had a Railworks bargain in a while, fear not as Railworks 2 is featured in this weekend's list of titles.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was released to critical acclaim late last year, garnering fans all over the world for its authenticity and intricate re-creation of the Batman universe. Arkham Asylum saw players take on the role of the Caped Crusader as he successfully returns the Joker back to his cell at Arkham, only to find himself victim to an elaborate trap set by the Clown Prince of Crime. The PALGN team was enthralled by what this tile had to offer and we can only wait patiently for the release of the game's sequel, Batman: Arkham City to draw near. You can read out thoughts on the title here.

Anyone who hasn't played Arkham Asylum should definitely give it a shot, even if they're not a Batman fan - it's awesome.

Tempted to add the pc GOTY edition to my Arkham Asylum collection icon_razz.gif (thus far: 360 standard, 360 GOTY, ps3 standard, pc purchased via the games for windows live service).

I don't plan on playing through the game - as you'd expect i've played it too often. However i'll go through it one more time in the lead up to the release of the sequel

Batman AA is awesome, and a steal at that price.

Yeh yeh.. I grabbed it.. even though I have a large backlog of games... Have played about 3 hours worth and very impressed by the gameplay.

The exchange rate worked out to be, checked this morning, $14.25AUD.. so pretty good deal for GOTY edition of such a well crafted game.

Same.. I really shouldn't have.. I have so many games in the back log now.. Heck.,. I even have Mass Effect 2 unboxed!! It's been a month since I got that game in the mail.. lol..

Still.. $14.25 for such a nice game.. worth it.
