StarCraft II hits another milestone

PC News | Three million and counting.
At the beginning of August, we informed you about the unsurprising commercial success of StarCraft II. According to a new press release from Blizzard, nothing has changed and the game is still selling at an enormous rate.

The game has now reached a rather impressive total of three million sales, further emphasising its place as the fastest-selling RTS game of all time. Not a bad achievement considering that the game has only been available for five weeks.

Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard, has spoken about the success of StarCraft II; "We appreciate all the enthusiasm that players around the world have shown for StarCraft II...It was important to us to deliver an overall gameplay experience that was accessible, balanced, and fun, and it’s been gratifying to see how strongly the global community has already embraced the game".

If you're uncertain as to why so many people have been playing it, take a look at our review here. Apparently it's quite good.

Yeah, they're making an insane profit off all this already. They I'm sure they made up for that US$100 million budget already.

I wonder how long it will take for this game to surpass it's predecessors number of sales which I believe is around 9 million.
