The original Deus Ex is pretty much one of my favourite games of all time. Invisible War was disappointing.. not necessarily bad, it just felt so mediocre compared to the first title in the series. Which is probably why I haven't gotten around to finishing it..
So yeah, despite Warren Spector (an idol of mine) not being involved with Human Revolution.. that video seemed good enough for me to give it a chance. I will, of course, not go in with expectations of something even close to the awesomeness of the original Deus Ex.
Except for a few throwbacks to the earlier titles, that doesn't look much like Deus Ex at all. It looks like it'll be very stylish, and an (at least) okay to good stealth/action title... but it just doesn't come across as a Deus Ex.
Invisible War felt like a significant departure from Deus Ex - as a follow on from the sequel (which, to my understanding, did a lot better commercially than Deus Ex), Human Revolution looks about right.
I'd honestly be most excited for a HD remake of Deus Ex. Same everything, but updated graphics/AI.
The damp/wet street scene made me think of Bladerunner and I guess to a small extent what I feel Deus Ex was attempting to create back in its day.. other than that I have to agree with Karai's post.
Also, love the 3rd person stuff but that first person stuff really looked unpolished.. Right near the start of the video, where he is walking forward with the handgun.. there wasn't even any "bobbing" motion or movement to the gun at all. I noticed that they didn't show a lot of the first person shooting.. there was that handgun bit and the bit with the machine gun in the warehouse.. and I guess the crossbow sniper part but that was a bit different to standard first person mode.
Yep.. a stylish, futuristic action/adventure with some "leveling up" stuff.. still doesn't make it a Deus Ex.. unless this is infact what they were trying to accomplish from the beginning.

I'd assume that's cause at this stage of development the game is verry unpolished. They've got what, 7 months left till the release date.
