Mass Effect 2: Firepower Pack released

PC News | More bang for your buck.
Were you one of the people who maybe felt that Mass Effect 2 didn't have quite enough weapons? If so, the Firepower Pack downloadable content might be right up your alley.

Originally teased through a number of wallpapers and screenshots gradually released over on the official Mass Effect 2 website, and the pack contains a total of three new weapons.

  • The Phalanx Heavy Pistol: A high damage hand-canon equipped with its own laser sight.
  • The Mattock Heavy Rifle: An assault rifle classed semi automatic rifle for precise, deadly shots.
  • The Geth Plasma Shotgun: Three-barreled alien technology that allows for rapid, weaker shots or charged, deadly blasts.

The Firepower Pack is now available for purchase on both PC and Xbox 360 for 160 BioWare / Microsoft points.

Purchasing the DLC for my PC version still seems to confuse the hell out of me.

Available for purchase hey? Gezz, something this small should be released free to keep interest in the game.

Serious question, how many people here actually keep buying these DLCs?

I purchase all the add on mission content, but I haven't touched any of the weapon or armor packs. I agree Cyph, that $#!t should be free.

However people will still buy it, so companies will keep shoveling it out there. It's money for jam.

Missions, all good.
Weapon packs? Come on Bioware, they should be part of the mission packs as incentive to buy these and to explore the mission packs.

I'm guessing this is because EA own them now. I don't think they made this many DLC packs for Mass Effect 1 did they .

They made two DLC expansions for Mass Effect 1, and they were both pretty rubbish. At least they're fulfilling their promise with significant amounts of DLC this time, though the weapon packs seem unnecessary and almost definitely are a result of EA's influence.

Is this the one with the new Missions with Liara??

Nope. this is just a weapon pack.
The Liara mission pack is called "Lair of the Shadow Broker" and the release date is TBC.
