Atari launches Star Trek Online Architect

PC News | Trekkies get creative.
The release of Star Trek Online back in February was an important occasion for the legion of fans who support the Enterprise. In an attempt to ensure it doesn't follow the same path as Star Wars Galaxies, Atari has announced a new feature that is set to add an extra layer of depth to an already robust game.

According to the press release, Star Trek Online Architect "gives fans even more access to the Star Trek universe than ever before, providing the necessary virtual tools for them to create their favorite starships and share then with others." This little project also features galleries, leaderboards, competitions and a mini-game.

CEO of Cryptic Studios, John Needham, states that "The Architect also serves as a terrific introduction to the Star Trek universe, which everyone can enjoy in Star Trek Online." You heard the man, start building your ship right here.

Wow, that's... completely useless. It's essentially a stripped-down ship creator from the game that doesn't really let you do anything at all. Wish they'd make more content instead of wasting their time on this...

Doesn't seem to address any of the failures the MMO had on release...
