EA registers trademarks for 'Darkspore'

PC News | Come over to the dark side.
Almost two years after the release of Spore, internet sleuthing website superannuation has revealed that Electronic Arts has filed not one, but three trademarks for Darkspore.

A quick peek at EA's Q3 2010 financial report indicates that the company does indeed plan to release another Spore game in 2011, but could this be it? If it is, the title certainly suggests that players will be able to explore the darker, grittier side of the Spore universe.

Expect more details at EA’s press conference at E3 in June this year.

I thought Spore was already darkened enough by the onslaught of phallic-demons from space. This news worries me slightly.
