The Weekend Steam - 8/5/10

PC News | Build your Civilization on the cheap.
For the world leaders amongst us, the Weekend Steam Deal will take your dream of conquering the globe one step closer with Steam offering gamers the opportunity to purchase Sid Meier's Civilization IV: The Complete Edition at 75% off this weekend. This edition of the title includes digital copies of Civilization IV and its expansion packs Beyond the Sword, Colonization and Warlords. For those gamers that already own the original title, the option to pick up the expansion packs singularly at the discounted price is also available.

It's a slow sale week, but there are a few other bargain options to be had with discounts available on the blockbuster title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with the indie set covered with the likes of Flotilla, Iron Grip: Warlord and the multiplayer space shooter Shattered Horizon. For those that like to ride the train, yet another RailWorks add-on has surfaced

Like its predecessors, Civilization IV is a traditional turn-based strategy title which gives gamers the opportunity to play as a leader of a nation. Here players will be able to complete tasks such as building cities, researching technologies, crafting a cultural society or conquering neighbouring nations; with the ultimate goal of world domination. The megalomaniacs at PALGN have thoroughly enjoyed their time with Civilization IV and its expansions in recent years as we eagerly count down the clock to Civilization 5. Those interested checking out our opinion of the titles can peruse our reviews of Civilization IV, Civilization IV: Warlords, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword and

dag nab it! I bought Civ Complete really recently. Bah, at least I have the physical copy, and also I can use the many sweet sweet Mods which I'm assuming would not work with the steam edition.

But looks like a good time to hook myself up with Colonization icon_biggrin.gif

ROFL at MW2 "special". In the "US" steam store they sell it $30 cheaper! All the time too, how do they get away with that?

I'll answer that question the same way I answer any other question: Bobby Kotick is a dickhead.

Ah, I've been waiting ages for Civ 4 to make it's way onto Steam, and then to finally be sold at a reduced price.

This will tide me over until Civ 5 comes out!

Civ 4 is coming to Mac Steam using Steam Play, I am pretty sure, so if you bought it now you could play it on the 12th/13th.
