The Weekend Steam - 27/3/10

PC News | A bargain that's sure to light your gaming fire.

The weekend has again descended upon us, meaning that its time to check out what's available and stock up on some quality bargain titles from Steam. Leading the way this week, is Runic Games' Torchlight, an indie RPG that drew a lot of attention upon its release late last year thanks to its cheap price and fun gameplay. Until Monday, role-playing enthusiasts will be able to pick up this luminous title for 75% off. Strategy fans will also have a lot to smile about, with Napoleon: Total War getting a 10% reduction for the remainder of March. Players who purchase the base title will also get the new DLC, Imperial Guard, for free starting from today. Trekkies will also have something to make them want to live long and prosper, with Star Trek Online warping its way to a 33% price reduction.

Those itching for some discounted gaming will be able to pick up a copy of Torchlight for US $5.00 / AU $5.53 / GBP £3.75, Napoleon: Total War going for US $62.99 / AU $69.66 / GBP £22.49
and Star Trek Online coming in at US $33.49 / AU $37.04 / GBP £26.79.

Developed by a team of veteran RPG game developers who honed their craft on some of the genre's best titles, Torchlight is an action role-playing game in the vein of Diablo which sees gamers travel to the mining settlement of Torchlight to uncover the corruptive power of the mysterious ore - Ember.

Man, this is like the 3rd/4th time Torchlight is on sale for $5. Are they really hurting for sales so bad that they have to keep having the same one...?

I just picked up torchlight in the deal, I have been waiting for the OS X version. Hopefully Runic will allow steamplay and we can then run Torchlight on Mac or Win. Time will tell but US$5 is not much to ask for a great little game
