Robin rumoured to be in Batman: Arkham Asylum 2

PC Rumour | Holy rumours Batman!
If a certain Internet Movie Database listing is to be believed, it looks like the caped crusader could be getting his boy wonder in the upcoming Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.

According to an IMDB cast list, Vincent Martella will supply voice talent for the coloured tight wearing sidekick. Those who are not familiar with the actor's long term stint on Everybody Loves Chris will soon know who he is, as Vincent is part of the voice talent behind one of this year's biggest releases - Final Fantasy XIII.

The IMDB listing also rounds out the returning cast with Kevin Conroy, Tom Kane, Mark Hamill and Arleen Sorkin all set to reprise their roles of Batman, Commissioner Gordon, The Joker and Harley Quinn.

Please no!

If there going to include more characters from the Bat family, i'd prefer to see Nightwing. First thing that springs to peoples minds would be that the inclusion of the character would be some kind of Co-op. But he doesn't have to be, and he could just end up as a different character to play as in challenge maps.

I have high hopes for this, I just hope he is used sparingly, not hanging around like a bad smell (I'd also hate it if it was just a way to pigeon co-op into the game, it doesn't need co-op).

Robin should be revealed to be in control of all of Joker's actions, driven to insanity for being left out in the cold in all these new Batmans. Also Alfred should be involved in this somehow.

God, I should write video games.

I don't particularly like Robin but, honestly, Rocksteady blew my socks clean off with Arkham Asylum and if they think they think they have a good way of introducing Robin, well, I believe them.

But I do question the idea of using IMDb as a source. Can't I go on there right now and say that Spider-Man is going to be in the game voiced by Hulk Hogan?

You can, IMDB can be as bad as Wikipedia. Though I like to think that film freaks are far too fanatical to mess with things like that.

Which is why we list it as a rumour until we have some evidence to back it up from a more credible source. icon_wink.gif

And now I feel stupid. You'd think the words 'PC Rumour' might have tipped me off icon_rolleyes.gif

While I fully trust what Rocksteady will do, I really can't stand Robin - he's a total sap. I can only hope they portray him in a new light. This also reeks of co-op which I'm not that excited about. Will have to wait and see.

I don't think it reeks of anything. Oracle was in the first game as nothing but a disembodied voice, there's no reason that Robin wouldn't be the same. And technically Joker was a playable character in the first game, but there wasn't even a hint of co-op. I think Challenge Maps playing as Robin would be pretty neat; he could play like a faster, more agile but less brawny Batman.

Perth minds think alike. I couldnt agree more. I think that the sequel will still only be playable as Batman alone throughout the story campaign and Robin will be an NPC.

It would be interesting if they put him in as an almost non-combatant. You need to get something done, you have all the same moves as Batman except no direct attacks. You could dance, dodge and stun the enemies while trying to complete an objective icon_wink.gif

If Robin asked you to have a sleep over, would you say okay?
