Modern Warfare 2 DLC confirmed for Q2 2010

PC News | Just what it will contain remains a mystery. For now.
Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has given gamers more to talk about with his latest post on Twitter, confirming that the latest Call of Duty hit, Modern Warfare 2 will be seeing its first batch of downloadable content early next year.

"DLC is planned for the wonderfully vague time-frame of spring. I'll let you know when we know when it'll be done," he tweeted - meaning that gamers can expect to see some fresh Modern Warfare 2 content between March - May 2010.

So far Infinity Ward is keeping tight lipped about what gamers can expect from the DLC, although Bowling has previously commented that Spec Ops DLC is something that the developer is considering. Many are also speculating that the recently revealed hidden code (that was uncovered by a group of hackers) containing the Global Thermonuclear War, One Flag and VIP game types could form part of this proposed DLC bundle.

All it needs is a couple of more escort Spec Ops missions, they are the best. And maybe a Spec Ops mission where one person gets to be a sniper, and the other has to run, I guess a different kind of escort mission. Don't really care about more Multiplayer maps, just want more Spec Ops.

4-player Spec ops would rule the world.

it will most likely just be a patch of multiplayer maps. That is one of the reasons the PC version is so gimped so they could make them buy the map packs as well.

in order to appease the Russians, the DLC will comprise of 20 different countries airports and civilians to murder in cold blood.

those bitches at IW better have a 50 cent skin for multiplayer as part of this DLC. they know that everyone wants this and its totally badboy.

I find it ironic that 'Badboy' sounds extremely not-badass...

Also, fiddy cent is weak, yo.

I can't even play spec ops online, it lags terribly.

I think it should be some more maps. Also the campaign is called "for the record", a hint at some campaign dlc perhaps?

New game modes can be added easily without dlc.

Possibly new weapons and attachments even? That might be a bit unfair though.

It's going to be flashback multiplayer maps. Of course the first thing a modding community does is remake the maps of the last game. Now that they can't do that IW will have to step in and charge for it

New game modes SHOULDN'T be able to be added without DLC. The fact that some hackers have already found several multiplayer modes hidden on the disc shows that this is probably how it will turn out. If it was ready since launch and was able to be on the disc why should they get to charge for it?
