Dragon Age DLC announced

PC News | Coming to you this holiday season.
While many of us are still slogging through the many quests of the fantasy RPG, BioWare has announced that Dragon Age: Origins will receive its first post-release downloadable expansion "this holiday season".

The DLC expansion titled 'Return to Ostagar' will be making its way to all three platforms - PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - and it will allow players to revisit the bloody battle of Ostagar in order to "exact their revenge and embark on a quest for the mighty arms and armor of the once great King Cailan when they revisit Ostagar, the site of the Grey Wardens' darkest hour, to reclaim the honor and learn the secrets of Ferelden's fallen king."

At this time a release date is yet to be confirmed. The DLC will retail for USD $4.99 / 400 BioWare Points / 400 Microsoft Points in North America, while international pricing is yet to be fleshed out.

Hopefully this one will last longer than Warden's Keep. I finished that in a whole 1 hour.

I can't believe how expensive some of this DLC is. $5 isn't bad but some of the others are $15ish? I might hold out for the inevitable 'Ultimate Game of the Year' edition which includes them all =\

Too true grim-one; I'm sure more and more people will be waiting for the GOTY editions for games that have DLC planned in advance. It usually makes for a fiscal saving, that is, if you can wait for it to come out.

well, the $15 DLC is actually packed in with the game. it's part of the whole move towards punishing second-hand buyers. the $5 stuff is all the new stuff.

talking about DAO DLC anyway - i suppose other games have some pretty expensive DLC for what that content actually is, but others, such as the GTA4 packs, are really more expansions than micro-transactions, so easily worth the price of admission.

I got an email the other day from Bioware saying that all purchases before 30/11 would get a free weapon (looks like a dagger - called "The Edge" - no idea if Bono also makes an appearance), but so far it doesn't seem to have been added to the DLC list yet - though i presume you'll need a code to unlock it. does anyone else know anything else about this?
