The Weekend Steam - 14/11/09

PC News | Missing out would just be a Crysis.
This weekend's Steam deal will see gamers given the chance to pick up the extremely pretty first-person shooter Crysis or its standalone expansion Crysis Warhead for 50% off, which equates to gamers picking up each title for a cool USD $14.99 / AUD $16.05 / GBP £9.99. For even more value, gamers can pick up Crysis Maximum Edition, a bundle that packages the two titles together for USD $44.98 / AUD $48.18 / GBP £19.98. We thought Crysis Warhead was quite an awesome title when we took it out for a play last year and you can read all about it in our reviewhere.

If battling aliens isn't really your bag, maybe you'll enjoy bossing around your very own set of minions with a second weekend deal available this weekend offering gamers a chance to pick up the entire Overlord franchise of titles for 75% off until Monday.

Although featuring some of the most stunning visuals around, Crysis is more than just a one trick pony. This sci-fi FPS took an extraterrestrial spin on the future where an ancient alien spacecraft is discovered on a fictional Pacific island, an island currently being invaded by North Korean forces. It is here that players assume the role of Delta Force operative Jake Dunn (aka Nomad) as he fights his way through the North Korean forces and the new alien threat.

The Crysis "Maximum Edition" is on sale for $29.98 (which doesn't actually save you any money) - but it was its normal cost a couple of hours ago.

Good to see that Steam updated that change with the 'Maximum Edition', as I'm sure a lot of people may have fallen for that mistake and picked up both titles for much more.

I want to pick up Overlord but am a bit confused. If I want the Raising Hell expansion, so I need to buy Overlord & Overlord: Raising Hell? Or can I just buy Raising Hell and that includes the original Overlord too.

Basically you can buy the full pack which includes Overlord, Raising Hell and Overlord 2. Alternatively if you only want an individual one, you can buy them separately (the discounts still apply).

Note that you will require the original Overlord to play the Raising Hell.
