Dawn of War II expansion revealed

Dawn of War II fans are in for a treat with THQ announcing that the title will be receiving a standalone expansion titled Chaos Rising.

Due sometime in Q2 2010, the add-on will introduce an old foe into the mix with confirmation that the the Chaos Space Marines will play a significant part in the new release.

THQ has also confirmed that players will be able to import their Blood Ravens squad over from the original game for use in the expansions new twenty-mission campaign.

As well as getting an additional single-player experience, developer Relic Entertainment will also be adding some new frills to the multiplayer aspect of the title, with the Chaos Space Marines said to be available as a playable faction in multiplayer. The existing Ork, Eldar, Tyranid and Space Marines factions will also receive a boost in the form of new units, not to mention a number of new multiplayer maps to do battle on.

I got a copy of it last week and I'm loving it. It has a great campaign that I've been hammering through both single-player and co-operatively that ends up a lot less cumbersome than the first game, where if someone attacked your territory, you had to defend...

I'm actually really looking forward to this expansion, as Chaos were my favourite faction to play as in DOW I (until the necrons were introduced) and the multiplayer definitely suffers from a lack of units and maps that single-player only overcomes by way of a solid rpg/equipment element.
