Today's reveal saw Valve unveil the first unlockable weapon for the class, dubbed 'The Huntsman'. The Huntsman longbow will allow players to put away their sniper rifles and pick up a bow and arrow for a Rambo-like romp around the level. Valves says that "one headshot from the Huntsman can mean an instant crit, in addition to a bolt-riddled corpse hanging from a wall that's gruesome and funny" and judging by the first shots of it in action, many players are likely to agree.
The Sniper class update will include three new unlockable weapons for the Sniper class, new head-slot items for each class, plus a number of new achievements and maps when it is released in the coming days.
Valve also notes that another Team Fortress 2 free weekend is on the cards in the near future.
