Call of Duty 4 sales pass 13 million mark

PC News | Modern Warfare 2 also generated much gamer interest.
Along with the multi-billion dollar franchise that is Guitar Hero, Activision has revealed that another one of the publisher's franchises is going great guns with the latest sales figures being revealed on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Activision publishing CEO Mike Griffith notes that the title has sold an impressive 13 million copies worldwide since its release in November 2007. Griffith also revealed that the first teaser trailer to its sequel Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was downloaded a staggering 1.3 million times in the first 24 hours, proving that there is a lot of expectation sitting on the next chapter to the Call of Duty story.

The follow-up to the stellar Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to hit retail outlets this November.

As in that the price has gone up again after a decrease?

I remember snagging a copy of CoD4 off steam when it was 49.95 back when the economy was sky high, like 92 cents per USD, best buy ever. In the following 2 days or so it was sky rocketed to 89.95 JUST for aussies, and its the ONLY game on steam thats done that.

Anyway about CoD4, good on them for making such an aweshum game, I have indeed had many enjoyable hours in CoD4, very much looking foward to modern warefare 2. Treyarch did a decent job for once in WaW but I still don't like this whole switching back business, should of stopped at UO. icon_razz.gif

13 million is an amazing number - most game developers would be estactic with even a 1/10 of that.

And achieved probably with not too many Japanese sales either.
