This week, Steam’s weekend deal is going to appease zombie slayers everywhere. Last year’s Left 4 Dead has been reduced by 40%, giving it a final price tag of USD $23.99 (approx. AUD $32.78 / GBP £16.19).

Left 4 Dead is set in the aftermath of apocalyptic pandemic where humanity has become infected and turned into zombie-like mutants. Players assume the role of one of four ‘survivors’, who must work together to fight off the seemingly endless hordes of zombies. You can team up with three other players online or go solo with AI characters. There are a total of 20 maps to play on and 10 weapons to fight with. You know you can play lan with one account? I have done it. Just plug the computers into each other so they aren't on the internet, click play offline when Steam asks, and there you go.

You can also play splitscreen on the one computer, if you have an X360 controller.
