Command & Conquer Generals anniversary celebrated

PC News | Celebrate 6 years of Generals with a free mission.
Electronic Arts has announced that they will be celebrating the six year anniversary of the release of their RTS title Command & Conquer: Generals, with a free download of a mission that never made it in to the original game.

The "controversial" lost mission titled "Black Sheep," was originally intended to be the third mission in the campaign for the Global Liberation Army faction, but the subject matter proved to be too culturally charged for EA to include in the game's final release.

EA rundown of the mission explains what players will be in for:
"...Players were given command of the Toxin Tractor, a slow-going farm vehicle modified to spray a deadly corrosive agent, and ordered to eliminate a town that had been "corrupted beyond salvation" by the USA's propaganda."

So celebrate another milestone of this storied RTS franchise by dusting off your copy of Generalsand heading over to the official Command & Conquer site to cleanse the corruption from your PC.

Thats nice.
Considering it was the worst C&C game ever released.
I still found the game fun though, just didn't live up to Westwood's high standards.
Damn you EA!

Probably because it was impersonal, a drastic shift from being within the company as a commander or grunt to then be a commander who decides "screw advisors, tell me what to do news crews!" and the emphasis on zooming which was then carried on with Tib3 "here's your base, here's an enemy *zoom* it got blown up *zoom in 4 different angles* here's your base again *zoom* here's your target *zoom* now we're going to leave you here 3/10 so you can scroll all the way back.

So as much as that whole cleanse the unclean sounds like fun... perhaps not.

It was a really great fun game, really the most fun i've had in terms of simple gameplay, and a good jump up in terms of the graphics and general's abilities. just forgot about game balance between the factions..

You're forgetting C&C: Survivor.

Actually Red Alert 3 is the worst, and survivor was a mod, not officially released. not to mention generals is just generals, EA slapped on the C&C brand as soon as they acquired westwood.
