More Left 4 Dead DLC details emerge

PC News | First DLC content said to include more versus maps and more.
With gamers still glued to their ode to the zombie apocalypse, Valve has already begun teasing gamers about what they can expect when the first batch of DLC for Left 4 Dead arrives.

Speaking in an interview with Kotaku, Valve writer Chet Faliszek stated that the first DLC pack for the title will include the two missing versus campaigns and "some new stuff" too.

"If it wasn't the holidays and people weren't taking all these vacations here at Valve you'd have seen that [DLC] announcement already," he explained. "We'll have an announcement shortly. I don't know exactly when."

"That's the kind of thing we're looking at, having both the new versus maps and some new stuff coming out as well," he added. "We're going to do the 360 at the same time as the PC and on the PC side we also have the SDK coming out."

Faliszek originally touted that the latest DLC announcement would come "before Christmas", but as the Christmas period has come and gone we'll just have to bide our time until more Left 4 Dead news appears.

Katana please. That would be just too epic, particularly against Hunters. Sliced in half in mid air!

The zombies are at too much of a disadvantage as it is. I am usually hardly sympathetic for zombies but these ones are playable!!!

I want to be able to do something other than spectate whilst i wait to respawn when playing as zombies. Yahtzee had the good idea of controlling a horde zombie. That'd be sick.

How about in the meantime they do some balancing and fix all the exploits?

oh god yes! that is the one single reason i rarely play anymore. even the option for privately hosted matches would suffice. how bout transferring some of the goddam counterstrike servers, those guys have had plenty enough time to play that game. ffs portal-ers buy a new game already.

katana? who ever killed a zombie with a katana? wheres the disadvantage to it? why not just insert a god mode into the game as well. its not thrilling if theres no potential to die. i think the weapons are well covered, perhaps there could be a secret weapon placed in each stage that is stage relevant, but it has to have its disadvantages. i would like to see more suburban areas. hmm, theres already a mall coming, perhaps a school, a more open plan city block, foliage intensive parklands, a bayou, the white house. or how about just open fields with just a wall or legion of zombies to battle through, it could perhaps be distance based scoring, who can make it furthest through the horde. how about international locations. of course theres always the mansion, the police department or the african shanty town?

The only balance issues atm are the smoker's tounge is too easily interupted and it needs to do some damage while dragging, and also the infected need something to stop the survivors sitting in closets with 2 melees and 2 gunners, that tactic is just way too effective.

If those get fixed I'll definately be playing more... if it's even possible to play more icon_wink.gif
