Wrath of the Lich King bargain round-up

PC News | Will these savings make you go "WOW"?
Completely levelled up that dwarf character? Losing interest in one of the most addictive MMOs in history? If you said yes to any of these question then shame on you, because World of WarCraft: Wrath of the Lich King is officially released this Friday. So that you don’t pay the full retail price of $59.95, we’ve compiled a list of specials that will be available around Australia.

For those who are curious, there was a collector’s edition available for pre-order. The total cost was $99.95, and the pack included a Wrath of the Lich King soundtrack and an artbook. Sadly, these are no longer available, which isn’t too surprising given the tens of millions of subscription holders to World of WarCraft. To make up for this, we’ve also listed retailers who have discounted the time cards, just in case you need to top up your account. Time cards usually retail for $42.95.

So, which store will make you draw the curtains and expose your pale white skin to the light? The answer is Big W who are charging just $44.88, while Kmart is second best at 7 cents more. While at Big W, you can also pick up a time card for $34.84. In case you don't have a local store, then Dick Smith is charging $37.76.

For a complete list of bargains, please see below. All prices are for the standard edition game. Time card prices will be listed as "time card".

My friend got his copy today. Breaking release dates isn't as cool when the servers don't go up till tomorow.

lol how long have you guys been playing wow?
I highly doubt there are any original players left from 3-4 years ago now. Been there and done that with 40-50hours a week commitments on server first kills.
I would be still playing if there wasn't so much room for controversy in top guilds and also if I didn't have any family or friends.
Sorta sick of a second job which you have to pay money for lol.

are timecards for WotLK different from the regular WoW? because at Game the WoW cards are usually $39.95 anyway

Out of the 11 million people that play the game, I'm sure there's at least one person who's been playing since the start icon_lol.gif

About that long actully. When I started MC was end game, PVP was Tarren Mill vs South Shore, Oceanic servers were a fever dream of the hopefull, and the final Hunter survival tallent was Lacerate -_-.

I probbably wouldn't have played for this long but most of my real life freinds including my girlfriend also play.

A mate of mine that still plays has been playing since Beta.

i activated my account 6 days after the game went live, still playing strong, though not on my original character.

when i first hit 60, MC wasn't around, but went live a few days later, so end game was UBRS, which required a raid for 15 people to have any hope of completing it.

and yeah - i was a Hunter. Lacerate was seriously "wtf?"

Ah man, nostalgia, when Warlocks we're a joke in pvp. Those were the days.

Man I completly forgot ubrs and shit used to be raids. man thats crazy.

I remember general chat used to be full of people running lotteries with the /roll command.

^ ah, forgot about those gambling houses.

i must've found the only legit guy doing that, won 20g, which was a f**k-tonne for me at the time.

No, the time cards should be the same for WotLK. Afterall, they're the same for Burning Crusade aren't they? WotLK is just an expansion pack, so it makes sense it would use the same card.

And I'll put the 39.95 card price in the list. thanks.

haha I first started playing when the Oceanic Frostmourne server had just opened. I don't suppose you guys know this guild called Purge in that server?
I was one of the main priests in that guild =p

I still remember all the epeens and epix glory as I sat in the middle of Org. Those were the days..

Just got back from the midnight launch at EB in melb, picked up the copy, w/poster, and also won a figurine (then took a box of pizza home).

Never been to a midnight launch before, thought was pretty cool. But i thought there would be more ppl, I guess the rain drove alot of ppl away icon_sad.gif.

When I used to play I went to the BC midnight launch. Everyone knows wow is nerdy/geeky but I couldn't believe how nerdy some of these guys looked. Some of em looked like the exact representation of a typical nerd in movies. xD
Me and my friend kept saying to each other, "YOU are one of them! HAHA!" lol
