Crysis Wars available for free next weekend

PC News | Find out where to get your hands on it.
Following in the footsteps of Valve's successful Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat: Source free weekends, Electronic Arts have announced that gamers will be able to play Crysis Wars - the newly-minted multi-player component of the sci-fi shooter series that has just been released alongside Crysis Warhead - for free on the weekend of October 10-12.

Players will be able to register their interest from Monday, October 6 at the official Crysis website where they will be given a unique registration key to test the game out for free. Although online play will only be available from October 10-12, players will be able to grab a few friends together and experience Crysis Wars via LAN play from October 6.

If you don't already own a copy of Crysis Warhead, head on over to the official Crysis website this Monday to try the online fun of Crysis Wars for yourself.

I bet they also put ultra restrictive DRM on this too, they won't care that it's free they'll do it anyway. I'm pretty much avoiding playing the legit versions of EA games at the moment, I still buy them but I'm too scared to put the disc in my computer.

DRM?

It's a free game. Why would they bother?
It's also effectively a beta test.

Beta test? It's already out so it's a bit late for beta.. And it's not a free game, it's just having a free weekend like TF2.. It comes with Crysis Warhead for free, but you can buy it separately I think.. If not yet soon.
