Spore available now

PC News | Australians conquer the galaxy early.
Spore has an official release date in Australia of Thursday, September 4th. In a somewhat pleasing (and unusual) turn of events, Australia has become one of the first countries where consumers are able to pick up the game. The official release date in the US is September 7th.

Now several Australian retailers have started selling the game two days early. While not present on the shelves, our fabulous Galactic edition (pictured below) can attest that if you drop into most EB games, you'll be able to pick yourself up a copy by asking at the counter. There are reports that JB Hifi will also sell you the game.

Have you found anywhere else the game is available? Let us know in the comments section.

Our Spore bargain round-up will be published shortly.

Great! Looking forward to your thoughts on it. Can you give prospective buyers a quick run down of what you like and what you dont thus far?

I work at EB and we put our copies out on the shelves today. No street date means it can be sold ASAP icon_smile.gif

Wow, really enjoying the game. There's something unsettlingly satisfying about killing the young of another species.

Need more buddies. If you have the game already, add me: JamesPALGN

Got mine today from work (EB). Can't say I'm a big fan tho. Reminds me of the Sims... seems cool at first, then mind numbing repetition sets in. Still, I'll come back to it tomorrow with a fresh mind and see if my opinion changes.

James, I added you as a buddy. Not sure if it worked though...

Edit: Nope, it worked. I love your imaginatively named "Monster" icon_razz.gif

Actually now I think about it, it's probably a better name than my "Splotchy" xD

Maybe we have to add each other, EA are probably going overboard with the child safety on this one. Add "Mipac" and see if that works.

I've seen you ask this a few times, so I'll try my best to answer it for you icon_razz.gif

You don't directly play against other humans, but species that have been created in other players worlds can be encountered in yours, so the world is constantly evolving. You add friends, view their creations, comment on them, download them, fight them, etc etc. It's very original and very fun stuff.

Sounds good, would be even better if you could vs other players. Dunno about the PC version or the DS version though, they look the same, except for the graphics.

maybe you should ask the suppliers as far as All Interactive are concerned there is a strict release date on it.

The DS version only focuses on one aspect of the PC game.
