The Sims 3 release date confirmed

PC News | February.
EA has today announced that the next chapter in the all-conquering Sims series, The Sims 3, will be available to buy worldwide (through both digital distribution and conventional retailers) on the 20th of February, 2009.

The gaming giant made the announcement at the Leipzig game convention, where they also let it slip that a collector's edition would also be available. This special edition will come bundled with a Sims branded USB drive, stickers and a game guide.

The most notable new features in the game with be increased customisation options and a more expansive, open world that can be explored fully - expect to walk through the parks.

Oh - there's also the chance of a few expansion packs, somewhere down the line.
