EA has today release a new trailer which shows that the scope of The Sims 3 looks to be widening, with an emphasis on going beyond the single household approach of previous titles in favour of a 'whole town approach'. The trailer depicts a Sim who has just discovered that there is a whole town right outside his front door, which he ventures out of to discover a town full of Sims exercising, jamming on their musical instruments and flirting with each other.
While the graphics of The Sims 3 don't seem to have vastly improved over those at work in The Sims 2, the impressive lack of pesky, blue load screens more than makes up for it, as you can seemingly venture around town without having to wait for the game to load up the next area.
While it may seem to be encroaching on SimTown territory, this significant gameplay change may prove to reinvigorate the series which has largely remained the same since its debut in 2000, and open up the door for another generation of gamers to experience the world of The Sims.
