E3 2008: The Last Remnant announced for PC

PC News | Release date also revealed.
Square Enix has announced that November 20 will serve as the worldwide release date of The Last Remnant, a new action-RPG from the prolific Japanese game developer, as today revealed at the Microsoft E3 press conference.

Along with the announcement of the game's release date, Square Enix also revealed that the title will also be shipping out on the PC, giving RPG lovers another reason to be chained to their desks in the foreseeable future.

While very little was given away about the game's plot during the presentation, a new trailer was shown which showed off a heap of battle scenes, not to mention the game's emphasis on spellbinding magical effects.

It's Square Enix, did you seriously expect otherwise? They're the king of cash cows (well, that's not true, but it terms of RPG's).

Hey hey, don't you go knocking Catz now.

So what actually is this game? Everything I've seen so far is just cut scenes?
It's an action RPG but, how actiony are we talking here?

[EDIT] Wait I found a trailer that had some gameplay in after about 3 minutes of cut scenes. It looks pretty damm confusing.

Sweet. With the PS3 release nowhere in sight, I'll just buy it on PC. Being an UE3 game, it'll run very nicely on my rig. That is if the game is any good...

Correction... a J-RPG on PC. I'd personally hold out for a sequal to Witcher or something, but that's just me.

Anyone else foreseeing people flocking to BT instead?

I think that everytime i see a new RPG, but after an hour or so of playing, i get used to it and think "hey, they could have put a couple more things on the screen too".

Depends on the price point I would think, you'd probably have a lot of people getting it to test the actual gameplay since effectively it is a port and ports are treated with less respect but if it's decently priced and plays well enough for PC people would probably buy this as opposed to simply pirating it. So I think there'd be an initial splurge of illegal copies before they may be replaced by legit copies if the game is good enough.
