The good news is that after a month of rigorous beta testing the Day of Defeat: Source 'Palermo Update' has now gone live, offering gamers a host of new features for the multiplayer World War II shooter.
Along with the inclusion of the map Palermo -- which is a remixed version of the popular community map Salerno -- the game now includes a freeze cam to help you identify your opponents' pesky camping spots, as well as incorporating full Steam community integration. This means that DoD players will now have access to detailed gameplay stats, an updated scoreboard (including the ability to tell when your friends are playing with you, as well as who's dominating who), and fifty-one unique achievements to separate the war heroes from the green soldiers.
To help celebrate the new features to Day of Defeat: Source, Valve has also announced that a free weekend will be in place for all Steam users to experience what the WWII multiplayer shooter has to offer.
