Free CoD4 map pack on the way for PC

PC News | New patch also on the way.
Infinity Ward has revealed that PC gamers will be getting a free map pack for their popular shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on June 5.

Unlike the console versions of the Variety Map Pack, PC users won't have to fork over any dosh for the download - thanks to a sponsorship deal with Nvidia.

Like its previous iteration, the Variety Map Pack adds four new maps to the multiplayer mix: Broadcast, Chinatown (a remake of the classic Call of Duty map), Carentan, Creek, and Killhouse.

Community Manager Robert Bowling also informed players via his blog of some extra developments in the world of CoD4:

"In addition to the map pack hitting, PC Players will be receiving the 1.6 Patch for the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that will add support for the new maps, fix a server crash exploit recently reported by the community, and a few additional features / bug fixes."

HOORAH!
Good work Marines.

This is great. They've been able to deliver the maps to PC for free, as they should be.

Heh. "the 1.6 patch will add in round-based play, a new weapons-purchase menu, and a brand new map : DE_DUST!"
