Warhammer Online to get local Aussie server

PC News | EA responds to fan demands.
Electronic Arts have announced via press release that the Australian release of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will include a dedicated local server.

As well as benefiting MMO fans that have been crying out for years for a local server, this server will also encompass the entire Asia-Pacific region, which should generate a substantial population for the game to kick off with.

Those players that aren't interested in running on a local server will not be hampered at all, as they will be given the chance to roam the US servers if they so choose.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is due for release this Spring.

Thats awesome! Im sure the idea of having a local server will sway a fair few more WoW players to come across, and will also be good since from what i understand lag will effect WO a fair bit more than what it does in WoW?

Anyway im looking forward to any game putting a dint in WoW's hold on the MMO market, with EA behind them id say it'll be a fairly substantial dint too. Plus with EA hosting servers here hopefully it'll lead the way for future MMO's, thank god for EA's billions of dollars.

I've already pre-ordered the collector's edition so this is just a bonus for me

I just went down to EB and asked about it and they said they had it on their computer so I put one down. I don't have huge amounts of faith in EB but I'm hoping they actually pull through.

You need more faith in EB man, its not their fault whether or not they can get it, australia is such a low care factor for developers and as such stock counts for special things are usually very low. Its up to you as a customer to order ASAP.

Ah, cheers for that. I rang my local EB and they said it's still available so I'll head down there this arvo. Since it seems to be a fairly limited distribution for the CE I'll need to do a deal with the devil for it... didn't even know there was a CE until I saw your comment on it!

nope nope nope nope fckit all only been following this **** for like 10 years and do you think an actual hardcore fan can even get his collectors eddition! hellno and i blame EB games for holding out when i first initially spoke to someone there they explained they had mass copies.. dont worry. you just need to go to the other side of town to the main shop and put deposite. eventually to get told at that shop they have no collectors edditions left. Complete **** , yea your going to have to just get the normal version thanks. SO Fu EB untrustworthy lamers and i rely'd on you!

Hey that's pretty cool, I'd still like to play a trial before I go out and buy it though.
