Mass Effect officially dated

PC News | Award-winning space epic to hit North American PCs on May 6.
For those eager PC gamers waiting to get a slice of Mass Effect, the team at BioWare has announced Colonel Shepard and Co. will blast off into North American stores on the 6th of May.

While the European and Australian release dates have not yet been finalised, it is hoped that we won't have to wait too long behind our American counterparts to get our hands on the galactic smorgasbord that lies within Mass Effect.

BioWare has also announced that the PC edition of Mass Effect will be privy to the following, exclusive features:

  • The ability to issue commands on the fly to individual squad mates with the new squad control interface.

  • Enhanced inventory screen to make it easier to kit out your team.

  • Quick-save functionality.

  • More run-and-gun gameplay with the ability to bind biotic powers and abilities to hot-keys.

  • Re-designed Mako controls, making control of your all-terrain vehicle even more intuitive.

  • New decryption mini-game to test players skills.

Stay tuned to PALGN for news on a PAL release date when it breaks.

The ability to issue commands on the fly to individual squad mates with the new squad control interface.
that's almost enough to make me consider getting the PC version.

i love the game, and am really looking forwards to the DLC, but i was really hoping for a better squad mechanic. especially since the preview trailers (which were included on the pre-order disc) showed more control over your team-mates.

or at least enough to ensure they don't run in front of a firing weapon...

any news on if the PC version will include the "Bring Down the Sky" episode?

Quick-save in PC games annoy me. It's a cheats way out. I thought the lack of a quicksave on the console verison was great and made the game more of a challenge.
