Why does the background of this look like it could be nothing other than the Death Star?

Also ....Luigi?

^ Luigi... i looked at those pics and saw nothing icon_sad.gif, unless you mean that thing in the background possibly resembling him....

Cool new pics, but yeah that Sonic one DIU does look like the Deathstar icon_surprised.gif

Article had (paraphrased) "characters such as Mario, Luigi and Snake", though it now has Diddy Kong where it used to say Luigi.

There's a video from that e for all expo in the US an interview with a Nintendo rep talking about Smash, he gets asked about the characters and he said the following:

"Oh yeah there's heaps of characters, we got Sonic for the first time in Smash ... uhh Mario .. .. Luigi .... that Snake character ... "

Most people think he just made a mistake as he seemed like he was trying to think of characters on the spot. That said, Luigi being in Brawl wont be any huge suprise.

Luigi will be in Brawl. He's been a staple character since the begining and he has a fan base going for him.

I found that interview and yeah he says Luigi...

He will be in it for numerous reasons, and he better be there with The Poltergust in his moveset

I think this game is becoming the Halo 3 of the Wii. The sheer amount characters is amazing. I think it has a character that will appeal to everybody in some way.

So does/is Ness. But yes, I do agree that he will most likely be in the game, but I do find the fact that he hasn't been revealed yet..worrying.

...why? Why should he have been revealed yet? He's almost definitely a secret character, so why show him yet?

I was just commenting it was odd to use Luigi in there when there we're plenty of revealed characters that could be used.... like Diddy Kong, as it were.

Point taken, although Ness isn't 100% confirmed to be axed. I have high hopes Ness will return.

Well, if he is a secret character, it just seems like a strange move after Melee is all. I understand what you were trying to say, and I can see the article was changed.

Joseph: It certainly seems that way regarding Ness, which is a shame, but I agree with you, I'm really hoping for Ness to return, one of my favorite characters.

Luigi was secret in the original, but stayed secret in Melee... I would say it would be more of 'a strange move after Melee' if he wasn't secret again.

Yeah I like Ness too.

How many bloody characters are going to be in this game? It's crazy!

Unless it matches or beats MvC2s 56 character mark, then the only answer can be 'NOT ENOUGH!' icon_biggrin.gif

(especially if Megaman doesn't make the list...)

Yes, megaman is the person who is really missing from that list. I would say it would be annouced though, he was in Melee? I can't remember.

*head asplodes*

No, Megaman has not been in any Smash game - much to my horror and confusion. Hopefully this is remedied in Brawl... and they use a good iteration of Megaman (like classic or X) instead of the hopeless EXE/Network designs.

I wasnt' looking foward to this game at all, but I played a little bit of the original on the 64 a couple of weeks ago and I think it makes a huge difference when you're actually playing with someone who likes Nintendo stuff and is prepared to give it a go. Anyways we had some fun and I can imagine the game 2 generations later with heaps of extra characters to be even more so....so yea i'll be picking this up. Besides the characters alone make it a collectible.

I’ve got more of a liking for Ryu going instead, just slightly ahead of Megaman. He has the special moves already for Up, down and side, but not neutral B, though. Another reason is, and is it just me?, there are too many blue characters, Sonic, ZSS, Ice Climber, Wario, Snake (well more grey, but), Captain Falcon, Ike… Squirtle. Am I just paranoid?

...every character has a blue palette swap, too. Hows that for mind blowing?
