Resident Evil 4: Wii edition hits a million

Wii News | That's a lot of evil.
Capcom have announced in an official press release that they have shipped over one million copies of the Wii-make of Resident Evil 4.

"Since the release of the first Resident Evil game in 1996, the series has shipped over 33 million units (as of October 30, 2007) and is valued as one of Capcom's most original and cutting-edge titles worldwide. Resident Evil 4 Wii edition retains the overflowing intensity of the original Resident Evil 4 while bringing players a totally unique, new experience through the controls of the Wii Remote. In this way, by retaining the interest of the core fanbase and expanding outward toward new casual players through the Wii platform, Capcom has broken the 1-million-units milestone, and successfully captured the attention of a new set of users."

If this is any indication, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles should be quite successful when it's released in December, given that Resident Evil 4 already had sales totaling 3.6 million from it's initial Gamecube and PS2 releases combined.

Only shipped? How ‘bout give us the actual sales. I hate shipped numbers. You could have over-shipped in relation to sales. (Not in this case though, RE4Wii is heading to a million anyway, I hate shipped numbers as news.( I’m just rambling)).

Great game I have to say. I am still plowing my way through it, but dam it really is fun. Especially for a port. Can't wait to see what they do with in with some original titles.

Shipped numbers are all we ever get for announcements such as these. For example:

i have it on GC but always wanted it on the Wii. For those who have it, is it worth buying it again?

^I'd say no. It's essentially the same game (an extremely good port) with a couple of extras that aren't worth $70 IMO. It's no better than the cube version, so unless you really want the extras, I'd save your money.

If you have a Wii and dont have RE4 I suggest checking youself into the nearest psychiatric facillity.

Or you might already own it on another system and don't feel the need to buy the same game again?
