No More Heroes gets a European publisher

Wii News | Rising Star Games to do the honours.
Rising Star Games announced today that it has nabbed the European distribution rights for Suda 51's upcoming title No More Heroes. The publisher indicated that the game is currently set for release in February 2008.

"Rising Star Games is very excited to be bringing this latest project from Suda 51 to the European market," commented Martin Defries, Managing Director, Rising Star Games. "He is without doubt a legendary creative powerhouse within the gaming industry. No More Heroes is shaping up to be a widely anticipated Q1 title for both the trade and consumers alike. It’s a massively engaging and immersive gaming experience for the Wii. This is exactly the right product to broaden the format’s appeal to a wider, more serious gaming audience."

"With No More Heroes, we wanted to create a game that allows players to be able to jump right in and play," said Suda 51, president of Grasshopper Manufacture. "The Wii allows us to create an open world where movement and gameplay feel very natural."

No More Heroes tells the story of Travis Touchdown, an anime fan who finds himself being approached by the head hunter of an assassins’ organisation. Travis is challenged to prove himself worthy by defeating ten other bloodthirsty killers to make his way to the top of the assassins’ league. Players get to swing their Wii remote around to use Travis' beam sword, and do all sorts of crazy pro wrestling moves. The game has a very distinct visual style and promises to be filled with dark humour.

Expect to see No More Heroes on shelves early next year, along with a full review from PALGN.

This is great news! Ubisoft is the publisher in the US, which means most likely there will a big marketing compaign, hopefully Rising Star are up to the challenge.

Confirmed PAL release? Awesome!
Not that gave much credit to the notion of NMH not being releases here, but you never know these days.

Yeah, I know where you're coming from Karai, I was a little anxious to hear confirmation of a PAL release since it's hard to say where a game will get released sometimes.

Great news, and good to hear the game is so close to being released, been looking forward to this one since before the Wii was called the Wii. icon_smile.gif
