New NiGHTS details revealed

Wii News | By way of the official site.
Sega's official NiGHTS website has launched and confirms a few little tidbits on NiGHTS that we previously weren't aware of.

The website confirms that the game uses the Nintendo WiFi connection, players will go online to explore the "My Dream" worlds of other players, items can also be traded online and players can race against one other player in the race mode. There is also a battle mode for offline play which should keep the family entertained. What is the My Dream world you ask? Well the MyDream mini world will allow players to capture, raise and combine the inhabitants from the world of Nightopia.

The website also confirms that NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will support all four controllers, so the Wii Remote, Wii Remote and Nunchuk, Classic Controller, or Nintendo GameCube Controller will all be compatible with the game.

Capture and raise, eh? Will there be a Chao to raise? That would be awesome.

The chao concept was based on NiGHTS' nightopian a-life system. Thing was you needed a Saturn memory cart to make it work, luckily I was enough of a freak to have one. I even grew a few moepians which hatched from corrupted nightopian eggs, the trick was to bounce enemies into hatcheries - no mean feat. The a-life system had a synergy with the level's music too remixing it based on numbers and general wellbeing.

While perfectly happy to see that N:JOD seems to be playing NiGHTS straight down the line (levels and objectives are fairly similar to N:ID) and all of the Wii peripherals are more comfortable than the hand destroying Saturn 'fat controller'. I am disappointed to see no evidence of any motion or pointer based control.

Actually, there is a little bit of motion in the game. Most of the time, it's to do some acrobatting moves. Like, flipping, and, stuff.

I think you motion circles.
